HGV Mechanic
Due to the continued expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced HGV Mechanic to work from our base in Coalville.
As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) & TRAILERS. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on HGVs to ensure they are in proper working condition
-Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, and brake systems
-Assemble and disassemble vehicle components for repair or replacement
-Repair or replace faulty parts, such as belts, hoses, and electrical components
-Use power tools and hand tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
-Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
-Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic / Technician or similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy goods vehicles
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools for repairs
- Familiarity with equipment repair and maintenance procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues accurately
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Working Schedule
-Working hours are to be covered between 08:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday on an 8.5 hour shift pattern.
-Early or late shifts available to be discussed. Saturday 07:30 to 13:00 on a 1 in 2 basis.
-Overtime opportunities dependant on workloads
