About the Role:
As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be responsible for the routine servicing, testing, inspection, repair, and installation of Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting systems. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the safety of our clients by maintaining high standards and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and installation of Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting systems in line with industry standards.
- Manage and plan your work schedule to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide system demonstrations for customers, explaining potential issues and solutions.
- Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including timesheets, work reports, and safety checks.
- Participate in the call-out rota to ensure a reliable out-of-hours service for customers.
- Collaborate with team members, sharing technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Adhere to Health & Safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in Fire Alarm system maintenance and installation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your workload independently.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in explaining technical details to customers.
- Competence in diagnosing faults and proposing solutions without supervision.
- IT proficiency, particularly in MS Office (Word & Excel).
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- FIA BS5839 Fire Alarm accreditations.
- Familiarity with various Fire Alarm systems such as Advanced, Kentec, Gent, Morley, C-tec, etc.
- An electronics qualification and knowledge of Fire Extinguishers are a plus.
